SET THE STAKES

Create a custom football situation

Use the situation builder to practice a particular late-game decision. Set up a touchdown comeback, a hurried drive with no timeouts, or a lead you need to protect. Every custom drive starts on first down, with 10 yards to the marker or the end zone.

Choose your starting conditions

Build, play, and share

  1. Adjust the controls above, or select The comeback, No timeouts, or Protect the lead as a starting preset.
  2. Press Start drive to apply your settings and create a new seed. The address bar updates with a link to that starting situation.
  3. Use Copy current challenge link to send the active challenge. If you change the controls again, start the new drive before copying its link.

A challenge link includes the initial clock, score margin, ball position, timeouts, and seed. A friend receives the same starting situation, not your current play history. Matching decisions produce matching outcomes. Sharing a finished result includes the same challenge link so someone else can try your drive.

Your progress is saved on this device. Opening the same challenge again can resume your matching saved drive; use Reset drive to begin again. Starting another custom situation replaces your current custom save, with a confirmation if that drive is still in progress.

For a common daily starting point, play the daily football challenge. Read how to play for downs, scoring, the playbook, and the clock rules used by every custom challenge.

Football situations to practice

The comeback

2:00 left, down 4, your own 35, two timeouts. A field goal is not enough: build a touchdown drive while preserving time for the final plays.

Play the comeback →

No timeouts

0:45 left, down 3, opponent’s 45, no timeouts. A field goal only ties. Decide when a boundary throw is worth more than an in-bounds gain.

Play with no timeouts →

Protect the lead

1:15 left, up 3, your own 30, one timeout. Keep possession and manage the running clock. Avoid giving away the ball while trying to close the game.
